How to get rid of mould without it returning.

It is a great idea to have a mould inspection....

Mould can greatly affect the emotions of those living in the property.

Possible health effects from mould include Depression and cancer. Symptoms include fatigue, nausea, headaches, respiratory irritation and dermatitis.

What could be done?

Cleaning of the mould with bleach will not work and will make it worse. A qualified mould Remediation technician should attend the property for an inspection and should have appropriate certification by Mycologia Australia. Inspection should cost in the vicinity of $300 but is usually worth the money. A proper mould inspection will help find the source of the mould and will consider the following factors:

• Moisture
• Airflow
• Temperature
• Food Source

Recommendation made by the mould inspector will make reference on how to control these 4 factors and therefore mitigate the risk of mould growth returning after the mould has been cleaned off and remediated. Please note that Australian Mould guidlines AMG-2005-1 by Mycology Australia should be followed when remediating the mould.
